Those with disabilities needn’t be homebound. Mobility is at hand with TARPS.

In 2010, TARPS completed 219,257 passenger trips. The continued increase in demand for TARPS’ services has created the need for a new 80,000 sq. ft. facility scheduled to open in December of 2011. The green building design incorporates a geothermal heating and cooling system, solar panels, skylights, reflective roofing, and earth sheltering for energy efficiency. There will be a biodiesel fueling station for public fleet vehicles on the site as well.

TARPS operates in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, and this service covers the same big area our full-size buses cover: All of Toledo, Sylvania, Maumee, Rossford, Perrysburg, Ottawa Hills, Waterville and Spencer and Sylvania townships.

TARPS Fares

• $2 per trip, $4 per round trip
• 20-trip passes, $40
• 10-trip passes, $20

TARPS tickets and passes are available at the TARTA offices, 1127 W. Central Ave., Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m.-noon.

Single Ride $2 TARPS Tickets, 10-Trip, and 20-Trip Punch Passes are available at Huntington National Bank branch at 4700 Heatherdowns Blvd. near Cass Rd. in Toledo; 419.254.7015‎.

TARPS Hours of Operation

TARPS provides service 365 days a year.

• Monday-Friday: 5:00 a.m. until 11:30 p.m.*
• Saturday: 5:45 a.m. until 11:15 p.m.*
• Sunday: 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.*
• Holidays 7:00 a.m. until 3:45 p.m.*: New Year’s Day (Sunday, January 1, 2012), Memorial Day (Monday, May 28, 2012), Independence Day (Wednesday, July 4, 2012), Labor Day (Monday, September 3, 2012), Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 24, 2011), and Christmas Day (Sunday, December 25, 2011).

*Exceptions are Mud Hens and Walleye home games.
