Road Rules
Where to buy your bus pass. Tips on how to make the ride better for us all.
Getting On the Bus
- TARTA passes and tokens are available at most area banks and at TARTA offices.
- TARTA schedules and transit guides are available at all public libraries and at TARTA offices.
- Please have your exact fare ready before boarding. A friendly reminder – any attempt to ride without paying is a punishable crime.
- When the bus stops, allow passengers on the bus to exit first.
- No passenger stops are made in construction zones.
Riding the Bus
(for Passenger Code of Conduct, please click here.)
- Please allow seniors and persons with disabilities to use the seats designated for them. It’s the decent thing to do, and it’s the law.
- No smoking, eating or drinking on any TARTA vehicle or in any TARTA station. Again, it’s the law.
- Bringing your own music? Don’t forget your headphones. If we can hear you, you’re too loud.
- Hey, we run a first-class operation. No shoes, no shirt, no service!
- Illegal or unlawfully-possessed weapons and/or firearms are prohibited on or in any TARTA vehicle or property.
Getting Off the Bus
- Wait for the bus to stop before standing.
- When possible, exit by the back doors. This allows passengers to board quickly.
- Need to cross the street? Wait until the bus leaves, so you have a clear field of vision.
- No passenger stops are made in construction zones.
Now you’re ready to ride.
